Here's the business part of the festival, the most important and most hotly debated aspect of the festival. The beer list is selected based on feedback from previous years, from the voting in the best beer competition, new beers introduced by our local brewers, beers that have done well in competitions and of course some of the favourites of the comittee members who work tirelessly during the year to ensure your pleasure. You can help influence the beer list for future festivals by letting a festival member of staff know during the event, and of course completing your entry for the best beer of the festival competition.

After much debate and voting my members of the committee the anticipated beer list for 2011 looks like this:

St Austell's Tinners

light and refreshing with only a hint of bitterness, ideal for revitalising the palate

Cotswold Spring's Old Sodbury 3.9% An unusual mild made with Oats, Rye & dark malts, flavoured with English Brambling Cross hops & blackcurrant notes in the aftertaste.

RCH PG Steam

3.9%

a floral hop aroma with a medium bodied hop, bitter taste with some fruit and sweetness

Copper Dragon's Golden Pippin

3.9%

a light refreshing ale created with a new hop variety giving a citrus fruit flavour

Plain Ales' Innocence 4% Touched by the delicate fragrances of the scorched earth yet with the citric crispness and freshness of a woodland stream this golden straw coloured beer refreshes and revives, elevates and aspires
Yeovil's summerset 4.1% Summerset is a blonde ale with light rounded mouth feel and a tangerine fruity hop finish
Arbor Ale's Hunny Beer 4.2% An amber ale brewed with wild blossom honey and German hops; not too sweet

St Austell's Tribute 4.2% A fine balance between malt, hops and fruit, finally becoming dry and bitter.
Bowland's Bowland Dragon 4.2% A full bodied premium bitter with soft vanilla notes, rounded fruit flavours and a long, refreshing finish.
Bowland's Admiral 4.4% Luscious tropical fruit flavours and generous hopping make for a memorable brew.
Exmoor Gold 4.5% Fresh and fruity flavours tripping across the tongue hand in hand with a soft and comforting malty centre.

Palmer's Dorset Gold

St Austell's Proper Job

an authentic IPA brewed with Cornish spring water – powerfully hopped golden bitter with citrus flavours

Wye Valley's Butty Bach 4.5% Full-bodied, smooth and satisfying premium ale is burnished gold in colour
Yeovil's Ruby 4.5% Ruby is a premium red bitter with rich malt depth. The smooth palate is pronounced by English hops giving the trademark Yeovil Ales aromatic signature.
Bristol Beer Factory's Hefe 4.5% Zippy and zesty, with flavours of banana, bubblegum and hints of grapefruit. A rich aroma of banana and cloves.
Arbor Ales' Oyster Stout 4.6% A smooth chocolaty stout that leaves you wanting more
Zero Degrees Pale Ale 4.6% Rich malt flavours combine with distinctive floral and fruity flavours (peach and grapefruit) from American cascade and centennial hops.

Dorothy Goodbody's Country Ale's Wye Valley 6% Strong, full-bodied ruby ale
Bristol Beer Factory's Southville Hop 6.5% Pineapple, passion fruit & grapefruit are the dominant features of this beautiful amber ale, that has a big strong malt backbone to balance out all the hops.
Hunter's Full Bore 8% Lovely malt flavours with a light hop floral finish
